Center Street Grill present the works of artist Joao de Brito during the month of August 2013. Joao’s most recent series of paintings are full of color, joy and dialogue.

The artist Joao de Brito was born in a small village on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, Portugal. He settled in California’s Monterey Peninsula, where he sculpts, paints and works in ceramic. But no matter the medium, de Brito incorporates his Portuguese roots into his work along with influences of the French fauvists and California impressionists.
De Brito arrives in Provincetown directly from Sao Miguel to show his work during the Portuguese Festival. De Brito opens his show with an artist’s reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Thanassi Gallery, 234 Commercial St.
