Newest Scotts Valley Art in the Library Display Celebrates  

‘The Great Outdoors’ 

 

 Local artists’ interpretations of our natural world opens Nov. 2; Library Hosts Artists’ Reception Nov. 9

 October21, 2013 – Scotts Valley, CA – The Scotts Valley Library’s popular “Art in the Library” program presents a new show starting on November 2 celebrating “The Great Outdoors.” Featuring the work of seven local artists, “The Great Outdoors” showcases their interpretations of the physical natural world, with particular focus on plants and landscape images. The installation includes oil and acrylic paintings, photography, and live plant sculpture, and will run November 2 through January 25, 2014.

 Local State Farm Agent Laureen Yungmeyer is hosting a special reception at the library on Saturday, November 9 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm; the public is invited to meet the artists and view their work. Refreshments will be served, and music will be provided by local musician jRj Rauche.

Now two years old, Scotts Valley Library’s ‘Art in the Library’ program has quickly grown to a popular program and establishing the Scotts Valley Library as an art destination by attracting renowned local artists.  The program is made possible by Scotts Valley Artisans, a non-profit community art center that features the work of more than 150 Santa Cruz County artists. Scotts Valley Artisans works to boost Santa Cruz County’s arts and culture profile and provides art-centered events and activities for the local community.
